Tickets are sold to ladies only, and we have some fun in the sun. Showing off our bowling skills on the greens, all this in of aid of our project for the disabled Centre in Coronationville.
Algamdulillah - On this day we prepared a delicious and scrumptious lunch for everyone including the staff of the centre.
We had a sit down and the kids entertained us with some amazing talent show. We interacted with each other and had a ball off a time.
In conclusion, we handed out sanitary gift bags to all the kids and staff.
Ramadan is one of the busiest and most blessed months for everyone. We have various projects such as these:
We distribute Grocery Hampers, Dates, Bread and Meat vouchers.
As Lailatul-Qadr and the day of Eid draws to a close, we are privileged to have supportive sponsors who are able to provide and distribute Abayas and Scarves to the under-privileged people within our community and its outskirts.
With the Qudrat and Mercy of Allah SWT we have the support of our sponsors and donors’ who assist and help us in preparing Eid meals for the families who have nothing. The Eid meals we hand out consists of 1 full Chicken, salad, 2 Cool drinks and Naan bread. These meals are prepared a day ahead of time so that we can get the meals out to everyone in need of it. All the people need to do is to warm up and enjoy the meal.
This is one of our biggest projects every year. We do an Annual fundraising dinner to raise funds for this project. Normally very successful and we always grateful to our donors who unconditionally contribute as it helps us add socks and stationery and a sweet treat goodie bag.
We distribute to all underprivileged children in Madrassah’s in the areas of Westbury, Newclare, Claremont and Waterval.
a very inspirational and motivational speaker, it was during Ramadan that we had a morning program to get our sisters to come out of the kitchens and gain the reward out in the path of Allah SWT. What better way to go and listen to Mu'alimahs' spiritual uplifting program. She is such a warm and loving human, I could listen to her for hours, and not get tired. A Gem in our midst Alhamdulillah.
Most of us are women here today, each fulfilling various roles in our daily lives and still living our own. It’s amazing how Allah SWT created us women, we have broad shoulders and we do stand tall when it matters most Alhamdulillah.
I am inspired by those around me, even when times are tough, it makes me wonder why are woman always so loving and caring.
I am a Palestinian Activist for many years. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a granny and soon to be a great granny Alhamdulillah and all of us woman Subaganallah wear our various roles like a coat of arms. When we look at Islam and all the woman who walked before us, we can only be overwhelmed with pride at the power of the Women in Islam.
For example the women in the life of our Nabi SAW, They are were also known as Umm al-Mu’minin (Mother of the Believers) and they included Khadija, Aisha, Hafsa, Zaynab, and others. They were the closest companions of Nabi SAW and played important roles in the spread of Islam. Alhamdulillah.
Today we are unappreciated yet always on demand. The strength of a Woman shows in her Love she shares with everyone she gets into contact with.
Shukran to all of you, for the love and support and sharing this day with us, the funds raised here today is going to Gaza Palestine.
We would like to raise funds for a few boreholes and desalination units, so that our brothers and sisters can also have access to clean drinking water.
I have been to Gaza and I am not talking about what I have heard but I witnessed and experienced the Gaza water crisis myself. I was there during the war in 2011.
And this is the reason why my heart never stopped beating for the love of Gaza. Make Shuker for what you have in SA, and never forget the sacrifices the people in Gaza Palestine makes for the Ummah on a daily basis, the Violation of their Human rights. We cannot sit back, look and do nothing.
Our eyes cannot be closed and our ears cannot be blocked. We are going to be answerable to Allah SWT for ignoring the suffering of the Palestinians.
We had a meeting with one of the brothers from Gaza Mohammed Elfara a month ago, and he said he is going to Gaza for his Nikhah on the 9th Aug, but he is not sure if he will reach there on time. They are kept at the borders for up to 6 months sometime - Imagine. Alhamdulillah he made contact with me 3 days ago he reached safely. He now has the challenge of brining his wife back to SA with him. Remember him in your Dua's. They have all these challenges and it is really SAD, but Allah SWT knows best.
In conclusion we would like to make an appeal to all today, partake in our auction please, spend your money for the Esaale Sawaab of your deceased, PARENTS, GRAND PARENTS, CHILDREN SIBLINGS ETC, this is also a Sadaqah Jariyah for all of us. Sadaqah Jariyah means ongoing charity which continues to reward us even after we have left this World. Therefore we should always do such acts as much as possible.
As long as these boreholes produce clean drinking water WE will be rewarded in our Qabrs, and until day of Qiyaamah.
SOH Pamper Day - This was a pamper day for the sisters that work at SOH, we went to a SPA and had a Massage and off to lunch for our year end function as they work tirelessly to make every project of ours successful without any remuneration. Very dedicated and wonderful human beings.
